The One Food I Eat Every Day to Stay Lean and Muscular!

I don`t believe in the idea of superfoods, but if there was a superfood, one of them would have to be oat bran cereal!

I eat it every day with breakfast (and I always have breakfast) and it is an invaluable part of my diet!

I take in a lot of fiber, 35 grams a day, and oat bran cereal has more fiber than regular or steel cut oats.

It also goes a long way in helping reduce cravings and has been an effective part of my weight loss strategy for my clients for many years!

It really works to keep those end of day cravings at bay and in a fitness environment where it`s all about protein, fats and carbs, it`s important to remember how important fiber is for overall health.

Everything from cancer and heart disease prevention and it even helps reduce the incidence of depression.

And best of all it`s naturally gluten free and works for vegans and omnivores and most people prefer its taste to oatmeal.

Biceps shot!

When someone says, "Show me your muscles!"

It`s not a call to see your hamstrings, your lats or your delts, it`s all about your biceps!

And I remember having arms that were just painfully thin and the first day, after years of training that someone said, "Show me your muscles", and they were actually impressed by what they saw.

It took years.

Not weeks, not months, years!

And during those years there was always the sense of not getting anywhere, as progress as a natural athlete is always slower than you might expect (especially as a teenager!)

But I hung in there and the lesson behind it is to always keep going!!!

Too many fail to reach their potential or turn to drugs out of a sense that they don`t have what it takes, when it`s really a matter of needing more work and more time.

Build Muscle In Less Time!

For the past 34 years I have been training with what I call Naturally Intense High Intensity Training- with workouts lasting 10, 15 to max 20 minutes just three times a week.

To many it may sound like some form of maintenance training or something that just works for me and it isn`t!

It`s what helped me go from being a skinny teenager to being able to compete successfully as a natural bodybuilder, but more importantly, it`s helped hundreds of men and women realize their goals over the past three decades of my career as a trainer.

It`s groundbreaking as the number one reason for people not training is LACK OF TIME- and with this form of training, time is no longer an issue!

High Intensity Training: 80lb Kevin Flyes for 6 Reps!

Last set and going all out on this flye variation that my clients like to call "Kevin flyes."

It starts in the press position and you push up while rotating the dumbbells so they end with palms facing you.

Unlike a regular flye, it maintains tension in your chest muscles throughout the movement and also creates a strong contraction in your sternal pectorals.

This was the last set and I fought hard for the last one!

You Don`t Need Protein Right After A Workout To Build Muscle!

Over the course of almost 36 years of training, I have seldom ever had protein within a half an hour of training.

I don`t consume protein shakes, and for the four years that I did when I was having them immediately after training, my notes revealed absolutely no increases in strength or muscle size compared to when I was not using them.

It`s a myth that goes a long way in selling protein shakes and protein bars, but the reality is that you can make gains as long as you are getting the protein you need. (Which, by the way, isn`t an exorbitant amount!)

DO THE WORKOUTS REALLY LAST 10 MINUTES?

Yes, very often it takes more time to get to the gym than it does to do the entire workout!

I AM NOT IN GREAT SHAPE- IS THIS WORKOUT SUITABLE FOR ME?

Many of our clients never set foot in a gym before working with us, and the great part about one-on-one training like this is that the training intensity is based on what you can do. We evaluate where you are and formulate the workout based on your individual fitness level, and it’s a method proven safe for all ages. As for those with pre-existing injuries, the wide variety of exercises allow us to always be able to find a way to help work around and rehabilitate almost any injury. Over the past 27 years we have worked with just about every injury possible and we are always able to tailor the high intensity workouts accordingly.

WHERE IS THE TRAINING DONE?

We primarily train out of the Complete Body Gym at 22 West 19th Street, New York, NY 10011 (between 5th and 6th Avenues)or we can come to you. The gym is one of the best equipped gyms in New York City and complimentary gym membership is included in all of our packages!However we understand that some prefer training in the privacy of their own home or apartment gym, in which case we send a trainer out to you!

WHAT IS THE DIET LIKE?

Our dietary guides are designed specifically for you and your goals. Whether you are an omnivore, vegan, vegetarian or something in between, we will create an eatign plan to make sure you get the most out of your workouts! The approach calls for a natural food based diet with an emphasis on minimally or unprocessed foods. We have custom apps that you can use on your phone to track your food intake if you are so inclined and we offer 24 hour support for any questions and to guide you through the process.

CAN I TRY IT OUT FIRST?

Absolutely! We offer a risk free first session where you will meet with us, have a short dietary consultation and experience our high intensity training 10 minute workout! We are so confident that you will love it that if you don’t think it will work for you we will refund the cost of the session. No questions asked! But in 27 years it hasn’t happened yet as EVERYONE who tries it, loves it!!!
