about<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">how do you avoid eating sugary foods<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">without losing your mind?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And I&#8217;ll preface it by saying<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that I do not consume any sugary foods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, many have said that Kevin<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is some sort of superhuman being,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and as much as I liked being called a superhero,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s actually not the case at all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There are some very concrete steps<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that I took over the years to be where I am today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It didn&#8217;t happen overnight<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and I&#8217;m going to share it with you because I think that<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">in a world where type 2 diabetes is so prevalent,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and a world also where so many people struggle<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">with trying to center;\">without losing your mind?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The first step is to be in a place<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">where you&#8217;re not beating yourself up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">The Addictive Effects Of Sugar On Our Pleasure Centers &amp; Why There Is Nothing Wrong With Craving center;\">Understand you are surrounded, completely surrounded<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">by what are called hyper-palatable foods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We figured out through technology<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">how to take the fiber out of the natural foods that we eat<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and create, by adding certain concentrations of sugar,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">salts and fats to create products<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that are almost addictive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Keep in mind, the part of your brain<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that responds to sugary foods is the same part your brain<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that responds when someone uses opioids<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">or someone uses a drug like cocaine,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s called the HPA axis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s a very powerful part of our body<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">related to what&#8217;s called our pleasure centers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now that pleasure response<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">can sometimes make us, as you very well know,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">do things that we don&#8217;t necessarily always want to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It can make us have cravings for things that<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">intellectually we know we shouldn&#8217;t be eating,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but physically it&#8217;s almost like<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">there&#8217;s an irresistible force<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that makes us keep on eating all these sweet things.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3339\" center;\">And the important part, to start,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is that there&#8217;s nothing wrong with you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The most important thing of this entire video<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is for you to start with the perspective of<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">there is nothing wrong with you,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and it&#8217;s perfectly human for you to crave sweet things.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I want you to even say to yourself,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s perfectly normal and human to crave sweet foods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, there&#8217;s a reason for that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And if you understand the reason,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s going to stop you from beating yourself up,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and the first thing you want to do<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is get to a place where you&#8217;re not beating yourself up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">How Our Desire For Sugar Keeps Us Alive<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, every single one of us have come<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">from an ancestral background where<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">if we didn&#8217;t have that pleasure center response to sugars,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">we would not exist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">How could that be?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Think about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">An infant, when an infant is suckling,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">when an infant is drinking breast milk,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">the only reason why that infant knows<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that it should be drinking breast milk<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is because of an HPA axis response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When a baby or an infant mammal of any type,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">has its first taste of milk,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">there are sugars in the milk, not much sugar,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but there are sugars in that milk along with some fats<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that really stimulate the HPA axis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Those pleasure centers fire up and because of it,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">the baby keeps on drinking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now understand this, before the 20th century,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and the advent of things like baby formulas,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">any human baby that didn&#8217;t have access<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to human breast milk would perish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There&#8217;s no other food that a human baby,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">a newborn human baby can consume. [In A Natural Environment]\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And so, for our very survival,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">we are hard wired with that attachment<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to pleasure being associated with sweet foods.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3341\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">How We Evolved With Foods That Are Not Very Sweet &amp; Why That Makes Us Overreact To Highly Sugared Foods<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, you may think to yourself that breast milk<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">or milk in general isn&#8217;t that sweet,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but understand in nature,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">nothing in nature is sweeter than let&#8217;s say a carrot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">What I say in nature, I&#8217;m talking about wild foods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you were consuming fruits<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that have not been agriculturally developed by humans,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you&#8217;re not going to find the sweetness<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that we&#8217;re so used to in our regular fruits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Some argue that honey is sweet,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and therefore there are very sweet<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">naturally occurring foods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But the problem is that we only have evidence of humans<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">consuming honey going back to about 8,000 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And before that, before the dawn of human agriculture<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and our ability to stay in one place<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and not have a hunter-gatherer type existence,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">humans didn&#8217;t really have access to honey.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Even under those circumstances,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">going back 8,000 years<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and to the dawn of agriculture as well,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">honey is used primarily for medicinal purposes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and the amount of honey that you would have available<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to our ancestors really isn&#8217;t enough to say that<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">we have evolved alongside with it<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to be able to consume really sweet things<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and not have any problems, because that&#8217;s just not the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Our fruits have been modified over centuries of agriculture<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to be as sweet as possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you ever have the good fortune, for example,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to eat a fruit that hasn&#8217;t been touched by agriculture,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">by any type of human intervention whatsoever<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and they do exist, not in many places,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but places like, for example, the Amazon,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">some parts of Africa as well, you&#8217;ll find that like I said,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">they aren&#8217;t any sweeter than a carrot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And they also are very high in fiber and very high in bulk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now modern fruits are much higher in sugars<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">because we&#8217;ve altered them to be as sweet as possible,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but we&#8217;ve evolved eating these fruits and vegetables,<\/p>\n<p they are high in fiber<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and because they are also high in bulk,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">there&#8217;s only so much you can eat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I always give the example of apples.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">None of us can eat that many apples,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but all of us can consume a dozen apples easily<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">by drinking a glass of apple juice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" center;\">we can eat more and the sugar makes us want more<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and companies in the food manufacturing sector<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">spend millions of dollars to create foods<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that have that exact &#8220;bliss point&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that&#8217;s going to make your brain completely overreact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now again, our brains and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">our bodies are designed to react<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">only to very small amounts sugar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So imagine how much of a unstoppable force it can be<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">when you consume something very all this to say that<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you should not at all be beating yourself up<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">if you find yourself failing,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">because the path that I&#8217;m describing is one of<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I would say decompression.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So think of it in terms of a diver<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">who is deep underwater<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and needs to get back to the surface.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And I say get back to the surface because taking sweet foods<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and sugary foods out of your diet<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is actually going more towards your natural self,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">eating more like the way that your body<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">was designed for it to eat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And so, in keeping with that decompression model<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that I&#8217;m describing,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as you take one thing out of your diet,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you don&#8217;t want to have any extreme adverse effects<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">so you need to put something back in.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Why You Should Avoid A Keto Diet If You Are Trying To Quit Eating Sugar<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So it&#8217;s very important<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">if you&#8217;re stopping eating sugary foods<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to make sure that you&#8217;re not on a low carbohydrate diet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s a huge mistake to try to take sugary foods<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">out of your diet and at the same time,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">restrict your carbohydrate intake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In fact, we talked earlier about the importance of fiber.<\/p>\n<p center;\">and the timing is important as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Many people who find themselves craving sugar<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">tend to crave sugar and sugary foods<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">sometime around three, four o&#8217;clock<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">way over into the evening into the night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And as the day goes by,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">those cravings get stronger and stronger and stronger.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">One of the best ways to help deal with those cravings<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and not have sugary foods in your life<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is to front load your carbohydrates earlier in the day,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and front load was really high fiber carbohydrates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3347\" src=\"https:\/\/naturallyintense.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/My-Best-Fiber-Breakfast-to-help-stop-eating-sugar-1.png\" alt=\"my high fiber <a href=\"https:\/\/naturallyintense.net\/blog\/diet\/oat-bran-cereal-a-healthy-food-you-should-be-eating-everyday\/\">oat bran cereal<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">which is one of my personal favorites,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that&#8217;s what I eat every day,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">along with some [lean] protein,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s going to go a long way<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">because of the high fiber content to fill you up<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and also because your body had carbohydrates<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">earlier in the day,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you&#8217;re not going to have the same dramatic response<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">of a need, an almost addictive need for carbohydrates<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">later in the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now you will feel it,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but it will be not anywhere near as extreme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s going to blunt that pleasure seeking response<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that usually happens to most of us later in the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So very important, like I said, first,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">make sure you have carbohydrates in your diet<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and also make sure you have a good high fiber breakfast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Another thing that&#8217;s important is to note<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that you need to eat carbohydrates<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">for what you&#8217;re about to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3348\" src=\"https:\/\/naturallyintense.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/fiber-is-key-to-stopping-eating-sugar-long-term.png\" alt=\"how to stop sugar cravings naturally with high fiber foods\" style=\"text-align: center;\">always and only naturally occurring high fiber carbohydrates<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">like yams, sweet potatoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and if you&#8217;re going to have rice,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">try to get that fibrous as possible<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">by choosing brown rice, if possible,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and think of it as your fuel,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but think of it as your fuel and think of the fiber<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as a backup that&#8217;s going to help you<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">deal with any sugar cravings that you get later on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But if you&#8217;re really active<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and you don&#8217;t add complex carbohydrates<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that are high in fiber,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and you&#8217;re taking out sugary foods that you were<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">eating before, it&#8217;s going to be too much for you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You have to balance it off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As one thing comes out, you have to add something in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That&#8217;s the way it works.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you want to have a smooth transition<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">from eating sugary foods to not eating sugary foods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3349\" center;\">Sounds simple and in practice,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it can be, if you stick with it,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but sticking with it means sticking with it when you fail,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">which goes back to my first point and an important point.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You will fail from time to time,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but it&#8217;s important to understand that just like someone<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">who is dealing with a drug addiction,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">if you fail and keep on beating yourself up<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">about your failure,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">what you&#8217;re doing is you&#8217;re reliving the experience<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">of doing an activity and a behavior<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that you want to get out of your life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The way that you go forward is about forgetting about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So the more you&#8217;re beating yourself up<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">is the more you&#8217;re actually unconsciously retaining<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">the experience and thus,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">making yourself more likely to repeat the experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you constantly think about that piece of cake<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that you had and &#8220;messed up&#8221; with,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that piece of cake is going to come back into your life<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">because you&#8217;re constantly thinking about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You need to forget, you need to let go, and letting go<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">means forgiving yourself when you &#8220;mess up&#8221;,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">get right back up and keep on going<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and what&#8217;s going to happen, as well, is that<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you&#8217;re going to get to a point where it&#8217;s not so much<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">a matter of you&#8217;re going to see all these desserts<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and use your willpower<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and say, &#8220;I&#8217;m not going to have them anymore&#8221;,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but over time when not eating high sugar foods,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that pleasure response get blunted,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and you no longer have the same sensations,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you no longer have the same cravings that you did before.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And our body will always go towards what&#8217;s pleasurable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That&#8217;s part of what causes the problems in the first place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter style=\"text-align: center;\">you&#8217;re going to feel the pleasure of being healthy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and it&#8217;s going to feel good<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and you&#8217;re going to want more of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And you&#8217;re going to get to a point, which I define<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">as healthy eating,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">which is where you&#8217;re eating foods that are good for you<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">but they are also the foods that you actually want.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You&#8217;re not doing it out of willpower,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you&#8217;re getting to that place<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">that very few are able to get to because<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">most people don&#8217;t believe they can, but you can!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And where what you want<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and what you should be eating is the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Again, like I said at the beginning,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">there&#8217;s nothing super human about me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s just consistency and anything that I can do,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">you can do High Intensity Training.&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nFirst leg workout of the year and already pushing it!&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nI haven&#039;t done a stiff leg deadlift over 315lbs for about 3 years at this point, and I did my last set with 315lbs and comfortably got to 10 reps and decided I had far too much gas left in the tank and that I should go up in weight.&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nSo I did.&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nI figured I might get a solid 6 reps in, but I made it to 7 and I think I could have gone on to get a full 10 reps BUT that&#039;s when good judgement prevailed.&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nAs a bodybuilder having not trained this heavy for so many years, the shock of this much weight would be more than enough to stimulate muscle growth, and doing more reps wouldn&#039;t yield any greater returns, only increase the likelihood of injury.&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nIt&#039;s not about the numbers, it&#039;s about training to a point where you achieve your goal, and it&#039;s important to have a goal in mind as a bodybuilder based on increasing muscle mass rather than hitting a particular number.&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nBesides, if in my 20&#039;s I never did more than 405lbs on a stiff leg deadlift, it doesn&#039;t make any sense going heavier than when I am almost 50!&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nCould I deadlift more at this point?&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nAbsolutely but just because you can doesn&#039;t mean you should!&lt;br&gt;\n&lt;br&gt;\nSo keep those weights in a good working range, keep it safe and as always Excelsior!!!
