Do be sure to take a look at it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Do be sure, also, to click on the links<br \/>\nin the segment below, because there&#8217;s a link<br \/>\nto one of my blog articles talking about differences<br \/>\ninto why people lose weight faster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Blog articles are really kind of science-based.<br \/>\nWhereas the videos here, are really based on what I&#8217;ve seen<br \/>\nover the years with real people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But the second and very interesting reason<br \/>\nwhy people seem to lose weight at different speeds,<br \/>\nis what I call &#8220;diet and exercise virginity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So if someone has never done any kind of dieting whatsoever,<br \/>\nand someone has never done any kind<br \/>\nof exercise whatsoever, as well,<br \/>\nand they go 100% from day one on their diet,<br \/>\nand they&#8217;re consistent with their training,<br \/>\nthey tend to see results faster than anyone else.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s really interesting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And that when I started training people,<br \/>\nthose who came to me who were a little bit more experienced,<br \/>\nI would think that when they were 100% of their diet,<br \/>\nthat they would be the ones who were the fast responders.<br \/>\nAnd interestingly enough, they weren&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In fact, especially among women,<br \/>\nit seemed to be that the ones who did<br \/>\nthe most dieting in the past,<br \/>\nwere the ones who tended to have<br \/>\nthe slowest results, compared to those who didn&#8217;t.<br \/>\nIn fact, I could see a very clear relationship,<br \/>\ninverse relationship, to speed up body fat loss<br \/>\nover the long-term, and much dieting they did in the past.<br \/>\nWhich was even more exacerbated<br \/>\nif they included cardio with it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So the group that tended to lose weight the slowest,<br \/>\nwhich sounds completely bizarre,<br \/>\nare the ones who did a combination of cardio,<br \/>\nand strict dieting, to reduce their body fat in the past.<br \/>\nThe more they did that in the past,<br \/>\nthe slower it was for them to lose body fat overall,<br \/>\ncompared to someone who didn&#8217;t do it.<br \/>\nNow, I&#8217;m not a cardio believer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I don&#8217;t do cardio, never done it.<br \/>\nMy clients, I advise them not to ever do cardio.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve competed at some of the highest,<br \/>\nnatural bodybuilding levels, zero cardio.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve trained clients who have won their pro-cards,<br \/>\nzero cardio, at natural bodybuilding competitions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And over the years, I&#8217;ve been able to consistently<br \/>\nhelp people get into ridiculous shape,<br \/>\nas lean as is humanly possible,<br \/>\nsub 10%, zero cardio, not a believer in it.<br \/>\nAnd very often some of my clients will say,<br \/>\n&#8220;Well, you know, I want to lose weight faster.<br \/>\nShould I add cardio to my regime?&#8221;<br \/>\nAnd the answer&#8217;s always, &#8220;No.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And it&#8217;s a big &#8220;no&#8221;, because I&#8217;ve seen over years and years,<br \/>\nthat the ones who did cardio, all things being equal,<br \/>\npeople who were doing cardio, trying to lose weight,<br \/>\ncompared to those who weren&#8217;t doing cardio,<br \/>\ntrying to lose weight, exercising less,<br \/>\nthe ones who are doing cardio,<br \/>\nalmost always didn&#8217;t see results<br \/>\nas fast as those who weren&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, the problem is when someone starts<br \/>\ndoing cardio, there&#8217;s an initial weight loss.<br \/>\nAnd that tends to inspire them to think,<br \/>\n&#8220;Oh, well, I&#8217;m losing weight faster,&#8221;<br \/>\nbut over time it slows down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In fact, I have clients who have gone against my advice,<br \/>\nand they&#8217;ll do the same training as those who are-<br \/>\nas all of my other clients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But they&#8217;ll add on their own little cardio on the side.<br \/>\nIf I compare their fat loss,<br \/>\nthat those who didn&#8217;t do any cardio, all things being equal,<br \/>\nthe ones who are more or less the same age,<br \/>\nmore or less same fitness level, over time,<br \/>\nthe ones who don&#8217;t do cardio<br \/>\nare the ones who have the most results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now there&#8217;s an evolution-based explanation for that.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not something that&#8217;s just happening off the bat.<br \/>\nAnd that our bodies are designed to be able to do<br \/>\nwhatever activity we do, because we come from<br \/>\nan evolutionary path where our activity<br \/>\nwas responsible for our survival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Without supermarkets, and restaurants,<br \/>\nwe have to literally work, physically, do physical work,<br \/>\nto get all of our food and all your nutrition.<br \/>\nAnd so our body does everything possible<br \/>\nto be as conservative as possible,<br \/>\nbecause the food supplies weren&#8217;t that high,<br \/>\nand it wasn&#8217;t necessarily guaranteed that you always had<br \/>\na ready supply of calories coming in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So if it was that your energy supply was really, really low,<br \/>\nour ancestors adapted in a way, whereas their bodies<br \/>\nwould slow down, so that they could do the activity,<br \/>\nto increase the activity required to get those calories.<br \/>\nBecause if calories are low from hunting and gathering,<br \/>\nas our ancestors would have been, you know,<br \/>\ndoing to survive, it means you have<br \/>\nto hunt and gather more to get more calories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And the way our body does that, without trying<br \/>\nto break down, you know, the energy reserves<br \/>\nthat we already have, it slows our metabolic rates down,<br \/>\nso our bodies burn less calories every day<br \/>\nto be able to do the exercise.<br \/>\nAnd the more activity we do, the more it slows down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And the same happened to someone who is,<br \/>\nlet&#8217;s say, restricting their calories,<br \/>\nand doing a lot of cardio; it&#8217;s the same process.<br \/>\nYour body doesn&#8217;t know it&#8217;s 21st century.<br \/>\nYour body doesn&#8217;t know that the food that you&#8217;re not eating<br \/>\nis something as you&#8217;re choosing to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">All your body knows is, not getting enough food,<br \/>\nbut doing all this activity,<br \/>\nso we must be hunting a lot, gathering a lot,<br \/>\ndoing something a lot to get food and to survive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So we need to slow down everything as much as possible.<br \/>\nAgain, it sounds counter-intuitive,<br \/>\nbut over the years, I&#8217;ve always seen it.<br \/>\nIt never ceases to surprise me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3230\" center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Differences In Weight Loss Rates Among Individuals At Lower Body Fat Percentages<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The other really important aspect<br \/>\nto take into consideration, in terms of what makes people<br \/>\nappear in this place to lose weight faster<br \/>\nthan others, is where they are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Falling in line with the same idea that our body does<br \/>\neverything to conserve body fat,<br \/>\nbecause body fat is kind of like our energy reservoir.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s our last resort, our last reserves,<br \/>\nthat allow us to do activity<br \/>\nwhen energy supplies are scarce.<br \/>\nIf you lose body fat, the more body fat you lose,<br \/>\nthe more your body&#8217;s going to do everything possible<br \/>\nto conserve and hold onto as much body fat as you have.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So, that being said, someone who&#8217;s 25% body fat,<br \/>\nwho loses 10 pounds, that can happen,<br \/>\nand will happen a lot faster,<br \/>\neven with a very tiny change in diet,<br \/>\nand increasing exercise levels,<br \/>\nhappens like this. (snaps fingers)<br \/>\nCompared to someone who is, let&#8217;s say, 12% body fat.<br \/>\nFor someone who&#8217;s 12% body fat to lose 10 pounds,<br \/>\nthat could take a long time,<br \/>\ncompared to someone who is 25%, losing 10 pounds.<br \/>\nI think the problem is that it&#8217;s apples and oranges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now it&#8217;s obvious, objectively, when it&#8217;s not you<br \/>\nlooking at someone else,<br \/>\nand dealing with the emotions of it,<br \/>\nthat someone who is leaner,<br \/>\nit&#8217;s going to take &#8217;em a lot longer<br \/>\nto have the same amount of weight loss.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s objectively obvious, but we aren&#8217;t objective beings.<br \/>\nWe live in our bodies, and sometimes comparisons,<br \/>\nespecially with social media,<br \/>\nand there&#8217;s so much bombardment<br \/>\nof everyone&#8217;s progress pictures,<br \/>\nand how well they&#8217;re doing that and the other,<br \/>\nhow much weight they lost.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It can be a little overwhelming sometimes,<br \/>\nand it can trip you up.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s important to kind of keep things in perspective.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3231\" center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Apparent Weight Loss Differences Due To Body Fat Percentages<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The other important aspect is that, on the reverse side,<br \/>\nif someone has 12% body fat and they, for example,<br \/>\nlose 10 pounds, there&#8217;s going to be a remarkable<br \/>\ndifference in how they look,<br \/>\nthere&#8217;s going to be a big difference.<br \/>\nSame with someone who is, let&#8217;s say,<br \/>\n10% body fat, losing five pounds.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s going to be a remarkable transformation,<br \/>\nas far as visually.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Contrast and compare that to someone<br \/>\nwho&#8217;s 25% body fat, little bit on the overweight side,<br \/>\nthat and the other, and they lose 10 pounds.<br \/>\nThey&#8217;re not going to see that much of a change<br \/>\nin their bodies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And very often, people who are on the heavier side,<br \/>\nto someone who&#8217;s on the leaner side,<br \/>\nwho loses probably even less weight than they do,<br \/>\nbut their body&#8217;s changed radically in a short space of time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And they think, &#8220;Well, that person is losing weight<br \/>\nfaster than I am, what am I doing wrong?&#8221;<br \/>\nYou&#8217;re not doing anything wrong.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s just a matter of, you may be losing weight<br \/>\nfaster than they are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You may be losing more weight than they are,<br \/>\nbut because of where they are,<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re going to see it much more pronounced,<br \/>\nas a point where your weight loss-<br \/>\nand small changes of weight loss<br \/>\nmake huge differences in your body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So it&#8217;s important to really be aware and stay in your lane.<br \/>\nRemember, it&#8217;s a sacred path, it&#8217;s your path.<br \/>\nLooking over your shoulder when you&#8217;re running<br \/>\nonly slows you down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You got to look at where you&#8217;re going,<br \/>\nand stay really focused on your path in going forward.<br \/>\nNow, there are two other issues that seem to make<br \/>\nsome differences, in terms of loss of weight over time,<br \/>\nthat was significant, looking at my clients over the years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3232\" center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">The Effects of Birth Control Pills, Antidepressants and Hormonal Changes During Menopause on Weight Loss Rates<\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The first one, among women, is menopause,<br \/>\nand hormonal intervention.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So, very often birth control can cause weight gain.<br \/>\nBut I can say that over the years,<br \/>\nthat while birth control does seem to slow it down,<br \/>\nslightly, the rate of fat loss among female clients,<br \/>\nI worked, it wasn&#8217;t appreciably to a degree<br \/>\nthat was really prohibited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And again, and very important,<br \/>\nwhether someone was a beginner,<br \/>\nwhether someone was advanced,<br \/>\nwhether someone was high body fat or low body fat,<br \/>\neveryone who is 100% on diet, on training,<br \/>\nover time, gets to more or less the same place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Everyone gets the same place, just takes a little bit longer<br \/>\nfor one group to get there, than the other group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, among women who were going through menopause,<br \/>\ninterestingly enough,<br \/>\nmost women tend to gain weight during menopause.<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s how it usually goes.<br \/>\nAnd when menopause happens, that does tend to be,<br \/>\namong most women, a bit of a slowdown<br \/>\nin how quickly they lose body fat,<br \/>\ncompared to someone who&#8217;s not going through menopause.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">All things being equal, and dietary adherence being equal.<br \/>\nBut again, the difference isn&#8217;t that big;<br \/>\nit&#8217;s a slow down, not a stop.<br \/>\nAnd it just means it&#8217;s going to take a little bit longer<br \/>\nto get where you&#8217;re going to get,<br \/>\nwhat you want to get to, as opposed to not getting there,<br \/>\nbecause you always get there, as long as you keep on going.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That being said, there was a small number of women<br \/>\nwho did not experience a slow down in weight gain.<br \/>\nThey actually lost weight, faster-<br \/>\nlost body fat faster during menopause.<br \/>\nIt tended to be women who were very active.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That tends to be the group that I tended to see.<br \/>\nBut again, it&#8217;s important to note that,<br \/>\neven though they did, over her time-<br \/>\nand again, we&#8217;re not talking about three-month periods,<br \/>\none-month
